5 Steps to Help You Lose Weight Fast

Eat plenty of vegetables and keep your sweet tooth satisfied with your favourite fruits.

You don't need to go without your favourites, just have a little less of them.. Just stick to these simple ideas to get yourself started, or when you're almost down to the weight you want, or even to give yourself a boost when you seem to have stalled. This balanced and flexible plan is one that you can use for as long as you want, whenever you want.

1. Write down everything that you eat and drink. You don't need to estimate the calories, just write down what you had and roughly how much. You'll find that being aware of what you are eating will help you to plan your healthy meals and snacks.

2. Try to reduce your intake of added fats. Use half as much butter or spread on your bread, toast, muffins and potatoes, do the same with mayonnaise or sauces on your salad and use half your normal amount of oil in your frying pan.

3. Cut down on your treats containing sugar to three times per week. This includes things like chocolate, ice cream, desserts, cake, pastries, cookies, etc.

4. As much as possible, have something low fat and high protein such as chicken, fish, beans, cottage cheese, or low fat yogurt. You can have eggs, nuts and red meat occasionally but not every day.

5. Every week, try to have at least one lunch and one dinner without meat or cheese. Make a meal based around whole grains, vegetables and beans. This way you'll increase fiber and reduce fat. Try to stick to these ideas. It may be difficult at first, but as you get used to it you'll find that it's a lot easier and the weight will soon fall off.
